When established in 2016, the BIBS Kunming Campus was the first international school introduced by the Kunming Chenggong District Government as high-quality education resource from Beijing. The campus covers an area of 5 acre, facilities include a dancing room, an indoor stadium, a multifunctional music room, an art studio, a modern library, a science lab, a standard track-and-field ground, a soccer field, and a café conner etc. for 400 teachers and students. Teacher-student ratio is 1:3.

Kunming campus is an IB PYP, IB MYP and IB DP fully accredited school, and with A-Level and IGCSE approvals.
